Next SF 2MCM Radio Practice Sat Dec. 8, 2018

December 1st, 2018

2MCM Radio Practice Friends.

Oh my how time flies. Our next practice and the last one of the 2018 calendar year will be: Saturday, December 8, 2018, weather permitting at Spreckels Lake, 36th Ave & Fulton, from 1000 hrs to 1200 hrs.

If we are rained out, we will run the radio practice using the SFRC W6PW Repeater.

A designated Net Control Operator will open a 2MCM Net, give instructions and take check-ins. Copy the call signs and names of everyone as they check in. After checking in, listen for information and radio practice details. The net will start at approx. 1000 hours (10:00 AM) and last until 1200 hours, or as long as we can keep it going.

From your home or car, while you are looking out at the rain coming down, tune into the SFRC Club Repeater 145.150 DCS 664. You may need to use high power.

You can test your connection ahead of time by tuning in Monday night, December 3rd, to the SFRC Club Net at 2000 hours (8:00 PM). The club repeater is located atop the Sutro Tower. The SFRC is a Roll Call Net. If you haven’t checked in before wait for the NCO to ask for check ins from “guests”.

If it is not raining, please come to the Lake.

I truly appreciate the support and help I have been given at all these little radio practices that are only 2 hours once a month.

As always, I suggest you bring a clipboard, paper, pencil/pen, your radio’s operating manual and your radio with battery fully charged. Everyone will use their radio and be encouraged to ask questions and help each other. Dress for the unpredictable San Francisco weather – bring two layers, hat and sunscreen. No experience with ham radio is needed.
