2MCM Radio Practice Friends,

Next Radio Practice:

Our Next meeting will be:  Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Spreckels Lake, 36th Ave & Fulton, from 1000 hrs to 1200 hrs.    Bring a clipboard, paper, pencil/pen, your radio’s operating manual and your radio with battery fully charged.  Everyone will use their radio,.  Everyone is encouraged to ask questions and help each other.  Dress for the unpredictable San Francisco weather – bring two layers, hat and sunscreen. No ham radio experience is needed.

Here is a RECAP of the Saturday, September 8, 2018, radio practice:

I was under the weather and a number of faithful 2MCM radio operators, on short notice, ran the practice.  David KK6JKC sent me a detailed report of the day’s radio practice.

This an abbreviated version of David’s report to me:

16 radio operators were at the Lake, it was a beautiful day, the enthusiastic group was eager to talk about the hobby, 3 had gotten their license in the past month, 2 pairs had been practicing with their own nets, 2 others said they were radio club founders before coming to San Francisco, a question was asked of everyone what brought them to ham radio with 11 saying it was NERT.  David wrote, “12:00 came quickly”, and  “Everyone of us learned something today.”

I am so pleased with all of you and to the Elmers & Wilmas that ran the radio practice.

We meet only once a month, for only 2 hours, starting at 10:00 so we can sleep in a little on a Saturday.  It is still difficult to find places in San Francisco to learn about ham radio or to practice using our radios.

Here is another place and time to use your radio:
